wednesday westy lovin
just when you thought the westy couldn’t get any more uh-mazing….
this next one is a little slow, but if you skip to the middle, i promise you won’t regret it. in fact, i guarantee at least a minor chuckle. or just skip to 1:30. that’s prolly the best part.
here’s another long one…really long. but just watch the first minute when they show a variety of westies making bank robbery getaways on the autobahn. so amazing.
and lastly, monique (we named our westy monique. did i ever tell you that?) might be a big girl, but she can totally tow boats:

you know you want one. go westy!
rococo (or just i <3 slc)
lately i’ve been having a love affair with my city. maybe it’s the summertime vibes. or maybe it’s just that i’ve been spending most of my time downtown. either way, i love downtown slc.
on a side note, i haven’t stopped listening to the new arcade fire for two days. i’m not even sure how many times i’ve listened to it start to finish. I kind of lost count after 10.
hurray for slc. and arcade fire.
Me and the suburbs
o’ pioneer westy style
westy’s second outing took us to affleck park–a local and delightfully shady campground nestled in mountain dell canyon next to a babbling brook/stream/creek? it was only a two-night venture, but the westy took it like a champ. i daresay each westy excursion keeps getting better than the next.
we played a lot of shifty games of phase 10 and uno..
very shifty…
this westy trip marked our first attempt at dutch oven baking. attempt #1: peach/berry cobbler.
cobbler triumph in the woods! huzzah!
did i ever tell you how much i luff our westy? hmm…don’t think i did.
on a side note, we also went to a real game. just because the world cup is over doesn’t mean america can go back to ignoring soccer. but actually, it does. silly america.
i need to know how i can get into the drum circle section. srsly. any ideas? because constant smoke bombs, confetti, and “ole, ole, ole, oleeeeee” looks amazing to me. they know how to party.
beirut is for lovers
yet another amazing thursday night in the park. this week brought beirut, an old musical friend of mine that i was super stoked to finally see live. (twin sister was also surprisingly awesome. love to see an album from them soon!)
that’s a lot of classy brass, kids. i luff beirut. love.
this guy with his little trumpet slung happily over his shoulder and his gorgeously smooth voice lilting from his sweetly tilted head made my life. such an amazing show.
here he is singing elephant gun, one of everyone’s personal beirut favs.
open source video, online video platform, video solution
of course, the night of a show would never be complete without a greasy gut bomb breakfast at the one and only freaky dees.
i love salt lake. i love music. and i love my oustanding twilight series posse that i get to see every week and love life infinitely with. you are all incredible and make me all kinds of happy. you know who you are.
huzzah for summer.
