Instax Mini Photo Album DIY

header

So here's a confession--I'm an Instax Mini fiend. I love my Instax ALMOST as much as my Westy and just about half as much as I love my cats. Take a look at my cat sweater/cat statue collection and then maybe you'll realize just how much love that really is.

The thing with taking instax pics is that pretty soon you've blown through your roll of 10 exposures, and now you have 10, beautifully happy instant photos and nowhere to display them. Or, if you're like me, you suddenly have a pile of 30 and a bewildered look on your face as to how you just blew through that much film in such a short span of time.

Fortunately for all of us instax addicts, I've got a quick, easy, and cheeeeap way to store your instax photos.

Here's what you'll need:

supplies2

  • A business card album. I got mine at Office Depot for probably $2.99 or so. It has to be a business card album since the Instax Mini takes perfect business-card-sized photos.
  • A strip of fabric cut to 11" h x 17.5" w
  • A sewing machine

Here's what my business card album looked like before. Simple, cheap, and perfect for this project.

supplies

1. With wrong side facing toward you, fold each of your short ends in about 1/4", iron down, and sew. (Don't mind my band-aid. That's a Royal belly scratch gone horribly awry.)

1

2. Now fold each of the short sides in by 4". This will make the sleeves of your album cover.

2

3. Now sew along the top and bottom of your long sides with a 1/4" seam allowance.

3

4. That's it! Now just turn it right side out...

4

and slip that baby on your business card album.

You can add whatever embellishments you like to make it fabulous. Then just slip all of your lovely instax photos into the perfectly sized spots, and you've got yourself a perfect instax album. Enjoy!

finished

PS--I'm still going strong in 52 Weeks of Instax. I definitely owe you an update soon!
