Yes! I'm sorry. I honestly can't help it. I found myself toting it along in my giant behemoth of a yellow-vinyl purse all weekend, struggling not to take pictures of anything and everything. I've already blown through 1 3/4 rolls of film, and I have a feeling that I'll be trending heavily towards excessive instax mini film usage from here on out.

That being said, it was one of those lovely weekends that you find yourself missing so very  muchly come Monday morning.

I hung out with the fambly, including Henry and cute, mustachioed grandpa, and hung out with the Sullivan/Morby family animals. Vinny (the shaggy, chihuahua-schnauzer mix pictured above) seems so much fatter than I remember as of late. Silly guy. And Royal's new favorite pastime is staring out the window at the passing dogs and cars. Love him.

My mom took me to one of my favorite stores called Broadbents. It's a collection of old and new things, and my mom and I are always sure to visit it often come the holidays. (The picture of it didn't quite turn out...too much sun! Ah! Still have to get used to the instax.) We also made a quick stop to the crazily fabulous antique store nearby where Mitchell and I took our engagement photos. That pic of the cameras has the same camera we used in this photo. Tender.

The best find of the weekend was made at yet another antique store--owl salt and pepper shakers! Huzzah! I've been searching for some of these for a long time now, and here they were. Perfect and only $3. Score.

And lastly, the beanied, long-haired lovely who made me the most delicious of egg sandwiches today. Pretty sure he could market those. Pretty sure.

Although it's quickly waning into a bittersweet Sunday evening, I'm so very much loving this weekend.

I'm off to start on a huge and very exciting freelance project that I'm sure I'll tell you about later. I'm also watching Waiting for Guffman. I'm hoping you've seen this because if you  haven't, well, you're sorely missing out.

I can't get enough. All day long I think about my instax and where I want to take it next. And then I start seeing things as an instax picture. Like, hey, that would look a lot cooler with a polaroid edge around it.

Anyway, it's been a lot of fun so far. I still have to get the hang of the different settings. And the view finder is kind of weird. Sometimes things get chopped off that I didn't think should be, but...I'll get it.

Also, I know I'm incredibly late to the instax game. And I know it's all over the blogosphere. So, I'm really sorry if all my talk about is lame and boring. I'm just really excited to have one of my own after wanting one for so long, you know?

That being said, here's my first set of attempts.

These two are my favorites. The one on the left because Royal is peekin' out of that pumpkin. Look closely!

Plus these that I took to work and pinned on my whale canvas that cutes up my desk a bit.

Hooray for instant photography! Lovin' how it lets you capture the little every day things without all the fuss.

But all I can take pics of so far is Royal. I can't resist it. He's just so furry and photogenic.

Hooray for instax! Best present ever, Mitchell. Thank you a thousand times over.

and because it was one of those days, mitchell took me to yoway for a deliciously perfect red velvet frozen yogurt. they had kit kats today as a topping, and i welcomed that diabetes in a cup with open arms.

tonight also ushered in our season of summer night walks, which i would argue are easily one of the best things about summer. i don't even think i have to argue that. i think it's just a given.

especially when you live smack dab in the heart of sugarhouse. love this city.

the best part about their house is the knick knacks. endless knick knacks. and anyone that knows me knows.....i NEED knick knacks. it's basically the house of my dreams/needs/wants/desires/etc.

so many books in this house. it's incredible.

and the kitchen? shelves and shelves and shelves of cookbooks. organized by country. gimme it.

and one of the cats. mischievous little scamp.

dear me: please get a new job with brilliant pay so you can have a house like this.

dear mitch: please design an absurd amount of websites so we can have a house like this.

dear penny: get better so you can live in a house like this with us.

dear birthday santa: i want a real polaroid camera for my 23rd birthday.
