I'm a voracious thrifter, music aficionado, heathen, and owner of a 1984 Westfalia Vanagon. I'm a writer and a designer, but mostly just a secret cat lady. Vanagon Champion is about all of these things with a little bit of thrifty goodness and old-fashioned magic for good measure. Learn more about me here.

thank goodness for web dev husbands
As you may have noticed, the blog got a couple of lovely little facelifts today. Huzzah! I've been so antsy to get the blog looking like a real blog, but I never got around to it. Sometimes when you do stuff like that all day at work, the last thing you really want to do is come home and do it some more, know what I'm sayin?
Anyway, thanks to Mitchell, the blog now features a glorious navigation bar where you can learn a wee bit more about what all this a is for ampersand bidness is all about. (Thank you, Mitchell! You're the last of the true champions.)
Thank you muchly to all of you readers. Blogging is such a lovely way to communicate. Contrary to popular belief, blogging is not about basking in the egotistical or tooting your own proverbial horn. Rather, blogging is the best way to speak your mind and meet other like-minded people that are some of the most supportive in the biz.

'Nuff said. Thanks for reading, please continue to read and comment, and by all means--if you have a blog you'd like me to link to in blog luff, let me know! I'm all about supporting my fellow bloggers.
Hope your Sunday is lovely!

life is life is life is life
So quiet on the blog front as of late. Sorry about that.
It's one of those blog/life ruts that come around every now and again.
I feel like I need a change, you know? Things start to move so slowly but simultaneously so quickly, and you kind of realize one day that life is blowing by and you're not enjoying it like you should be.
Oh well. At least lil' wayne go out of the slammer today, right? Right.
Maybe I need creative outlets or something. Like this.

or this...

Let it be noted that yarn bombing is pretty much the sweetest thing ever.
Anyway, forgive me for being rather bloggingly absent lately. Sometimes you just gotta ruminate in your own little silence for awhile.
Plus, I run out of blogging ideas most of the time. It's not like I have a sweet Etsy shop or some gnarly awesome talent that I can share with peeps. It's just me being a weenie on the interwebz. But I love you all so very much for reading and commenting. What kinds of things do you like to read about in general? And is it ok if I blog about pointless things every once in awhile that really aren't that cool but are cool to me? I wanna know. 1,2,3....discuss.

easter, eating, and the morning benders
sorry again for the lackage of TTMGage. i don't know what got into me. i'm in a massive blog rut, and i'm not sure what to do about it. and boy, did you guys get mad! readership hit a drastic low on friday all because i epic failed on TTMG. i'll never do it again. jeez.
this ruttage is mostly odd because for once in the past 4 months i actually have things going on in my life. you'd think i'd want to blog about it, but you're WRONG! i don't want to blog about it. i don't know why. i just don't.
the job is outstanding thus far.
the weather sucks massively.
i love cinnamon rolls more than life itself.
nothing really to write home about.
the morning benders are coming to kilby tomorrow night, but i don't really feel like going. i know it will be amazing, but can i really battle the young and angsty hipster crowd? do i really want to get my toms dirty? not really. plus, $10? for a shed show? i'm not 17 anymore. i don't know if i can do it.
additionally, i've been watching A LOT of ER recently. two episodes a day. i started with season 1, and let's just say that i wish dr. green was a real doctor, and that he was my doctor...and friend for that matter. what a champ. and doug ross? psh...g. clooney at his finest mos def.
the problem with watching a lot of ER is that you start to feel paranoid. i hate driving more than ever because i feel like one false lane change and i'll end up in the county general ER being intubated by Dr. Lewis and Haleh. it's scary. i don't like it. but i do like watching ER.
anyway, don't stop reading my blog. i'll be back. stress and a lot of things happening in life at once tend to funkify my writing mojo, but i'll be back.
in the meantime, i do hope you had a fabulous easter. i ate more than i've ever eaten before today, and it was fan-tastic. hyphenated for your pleasure. seriously. my mom has never put on a better spread than she did today. thanks mom. nothing says easter like a belly full of delish.
and until next time, enjoy a little fail. at first you think it's going to be a that's what she said, but you're WRONG.
