Gettin low in SLC
It was another great free show at the park. This week brought memory tapes and girl talk.
I came. I saw. I danced.
Isn’t christopher’s bandana charming? Girl talk brought out the worst in people, but it was still an outlandishly huge dance party, and I loved it. Especially the dance off I witnessed between two amazing robot-eers. Best robot dancing I’ve ever seen mos def. Also, always a pleasure to see my WJ gals from back in the day. They always make me love life, and I love their guts for it.
Next week? Beirut! Now there’s a show I’m pumped about.
(ps-sorry all the pics are shoved at the bottom. I’m blogging from my phone, and that’s just the app’s prerogative. Sorry, kids.)
brought to you by the color teal
i told you i loved teal.
“is she really going to write another post about how much she loves teal?”
yes. i am.
i’m obsessed with all things teal, like this print:

and this absolutely incredible dress. wowzas. please to have?

this one would be great, too. why not both?

these boots? yes please.

this teal room. someday!

gimme this polish:

don’t be surprised should you come to my stinky house one of these days and find it draped in luscious shades of varying teals. obsessed! i am!
happy thursday. we’re headed to bear lake this weekend for the first trip in the westy. holla!
feeling infinite
sometimes you need a cookie.
like this cookie.
sprinkles always preferred. and sometimes when you eat this cookie, you feel like it might be the best cookie of your entire life. and maybe even sometimes you eat this cookie and feel like you want to roll over and die because it’s so good and nothing will ever be as good as it so you might as well just die now as the happiest girl in america.
said feeling happened to me when i ate aforementioned cookie two days ago. let’s just say i haven’t been the same since.
and sometimes, you just have to head to a small town to hang out with old friends. and when you do this, you sometimes see quaint scenes that make you feel like you wish you could live in a summery breeze of a small town for the rest of your life.
and then there are times when you take pictures of clouds that make you either want to eat cotton candy or learn to time travel just in case time traveling looks like this whilst the traveling happens.
and yes, i do imagine that time traveling would look like this, and if it doesn’t, i’ll be sorely disappointed.
but most of the time you just need a ride in the westy with the windows down and the pod tuned to nick drake’s pink moon or neil young’s harvest up and down the asphalt and neon and ghetto of state street with your hair being blown into a million little nests of snarls made pleasant by the summer’s twilight breeze.
summer is good. the little things are good. feeling infinite is good.
i’m addicted to feeling infinite these days. and i’m glad that i feel infinite enough times to develop that crazy cockamamie addiction.
life is good. and the summer has only just begun, kids.
in case you weren’t one of the 40,000
it’s twilight concert series time, and this year’s lineup is a real doozy.
we braved the crowds of an estimated 40,000 to see avi buffalo and modest mouse. i went for avi buffalo, but it was nice to see modest mouse again considering the last time i saw them was 2007.
it was hot, it was crowded, but it was absolutely the time of my life. summertime in slc.
i wished i could have gotten a better picture to illustrate just how gnarly the crowds were. the important thing, though, was that this guy was there:
those glasses + that hair=i wish he was my new best friend.
i also wish i could have gotten better video, but i didn’t dare go any closer to the stage–the closer you got the crazier the crowd got, so we just kept our distance and enjoyed the pleasant shade.

next up this week is girl talk, and you best believe i’s gon’ be dancin.
violin is hard
holy balls.
i’d forgotten how hard violin is. AND how much i suck at it. seriously. this is going to be a long and arduous road. but it’s one i’m willing to take i suppose.
i have a recital august 7. so nervous up in here.
here’s the song i’m playing. you should at least turn it on and listen to it in the background while you read other blogs. or watch it and love this little asian prodigy’s awesome facial expressions. either way, it’s an absolutely gorgeous song, and i feel that you should listen to it. for your culture’s sake!
