It’s been a pretty damn good summer. Probably the best I’ve had as long as I can remember. Jenny, Laura–that’s all because of you. And it’s also me finally accepting my body in this very moment and not really giving two naughty eff words about anyone else.
I learned some important lessons this summer, including “you’ll have fun when you get there–I promise!” and “it’s totally cool to sit in your underwear and watch Drop Dead Diva if that’s what you feel like doing.” Namely, I learned this summer to not read so much into what I feel like doing. FYI, being busy is not a virtue, being active DEFINITELY is not a virtue, and, above all, NOBODY CARES about what you do in your free time. Do what you want to do. There’s no right or wrong way. No more socially acceptable use of time vs. a totally lame and lazy use of your time. That ish is up to YOU. And if you’re a homebody, be a freaking homebody and OWN that shit. The only thing you need to worry about is…am I happy in this moment doing what I’ve chosen to do? BAM. Summer wisdom.
I hope you had a swell summer, too. Utah is great, and while I love Utah in the fall and winter more than anything, it’s pretty damn fine in the summer, too. The older I get, the more I want to nature it up and get all Walden in this bitch.
