(I know it's $5 Thrifty Thursday, but this week I HAD to make an exception. Trust me. It's worth it!)
The other day we happened upon a Salvation Army. We seriously pondered skipping the trip and going straight home as we were tired and full from the pizza we had just eaten, but I figured it'd be a quick trip, and we might as well just see what the store was like.
Well, sometimes the jackpots come when you're least expecting it. Like this completely perfect record cabinet.

Yes, you read that right. $10. But it gets better.
The thing is not only in mint condition, but it also happens to work PERFECTLY. The tubes fired right up, and the radio and record player work. We didn't even have to buy a new needle. Whoever donated this thing was a.) awesome at taking care of their things and b.) insane for giving this up.
Of course, such a beautiful specimen requires some beautiful and kitschy compliments surrounding it, yes? I've had this collection of art building for years, and I finally have the perfect place to hang it. (And hey! bonus Thrifty Thursday find--I FINALLY found a paint by number. It was $4!)
Once we got the gem into the house, Mitch sat down immediately to do some research--this baby is officially from 1962. Score.
I still can't believe the thing is real. I get kind of surprised when I walk into my living room and see it there. You can even stack records up on the player and it will flip them over for you. I love her.
On another awesome thrifty find note, Becky from Becky's Blog found this insanely gorgeous patchwork quilt at Goodwill for $4.
I was so excited when she showed me this. Becky and I are quickly finding out we are vintage soul sisters, and we have twin quilts. Remember my crazy 70s patchwork quilt? Becky has all kinds of amazing thrifty finds on her blog and a gorgeous etsy shop, too! Stop by and send her some love.
As always, if you found something amazing while thrifting that was $5 or under, send it my way, and I’ll feature you next week! Let's spread the thrifting joy and love.

That. Is. So. Freaking. Awesome! I can't believe you found that and it was only $10! Who would give that up? It obviously was destined for you because it fits so perfectly in that little nook. Wow. That takes the cake for best thrifty find I've seen in a long time!
