sew-terday! and project #6

mitchell is away camping, and i'm home alone on a saturday with no plans, which means only one thing. it's an all-day sewing marathon, kids.

today's first project was one that immediately filled me with all sorts of gnarly trepidation. an ironing board cover. with a faux-serged zig-zag stitch edge and elastic. elastic!

but i mustered up all my sewing courage and went for it, and surprisingly enough, it wasn't bad at all. elastic is actually fun to sew with. and it turns out you don't necessarily have to have a serger to have a fantastically finished edge. what do you think?

i've got two more projects in the works for today, so stay tuned. because i know you're all dying on the edge of your seats for my next sewing post. ;)

Look at you! I am excited you're sewing so much, I wish we lived closer and we could sew together. Have you been to the sew mama sew blog? Check it out, es muy bueno.
