to the birthday kid

i'm glad you were born. a lot of people are born these days, but i'm especially glad that you in particular were born.

it's a good thing you came along because who would i have had a secret crush on all those years at USU? that would have been awfully boring in those dank tech writing labs.

and what would have happened had you not come along and used your wily ways to steal the "engaged girl" from certain doom? yikes.

and it's a good thing you came along because who else would i have eaten lunch with every day in that old park in logan?

and it's a really good thing you came along because what if you hadn't popped the question on one knee in said park?

i'm really glad you were born so that we could get hitched and have toast on the big day despite our mothers' dismay at the  prospect of such tackiness.

it sure would be lonely watching dexter and veronica mars all by my lonesome, you know.

and it would definitely suck to drive in the westy all by myself. especially considering it's hard to drive and probably wouldn't run had you not come along.

if you hadn't been born, who would open my jam jars and watch SYTYCD with me? (i know you love that show. don't act like you don't.)

and what would i do when i got stuck wrangling with html/css? pretty sure nobody would help me because pretty sure nobody is as patient as you are in that respect.

i don't even want to think about what i would do if you hadn't come along to open my cereal boxes correctly. so much stale cereal.

most of all, though, i'm glad you were born just so that we could be crazy westy vagabonds together, since i'm pretty sure that's what we were both born to do.
