it's peanut butta feather time

I am happy to say that the crafty side of Amy Rebeccas is back in living color. Me and my bff of days gone by, Laura, got together last night after 8 billion years of boring, craftless separation to particiapte in some stylee craft fashion. We made some killer feather headbands since I've been coveting them for so long but can't bring myself to pay $30. Laura is a craft feather master, so she helped me round up some supplies at Michaels, Savers, and Wal-Mart to make my own. All i can say is that Savers is prolly the best thing about SLC. We didn't have the luxury of a second thrift chain in Logan, so woo! I luff it.

Here is our dead duck mess...

And after much super glue on our hands and nasty feather boogers, here is my finished product...

And here's both of us scamps. Laura had a stroke of genius and concoted a bobby pin doo da on the back of hers so she could pin it to whatever she wants. glorious.

It was probably the best night of my life in a long time. Crafts + old bff + feathers=a good time. Thank you, Laura, for being a genius and helping me save some mucho monies. These little beauts probably cost somewhere around $3.50...they sell online for around $30, so suck it corporate america!

Suck it

This last month was one big epic FAIL. February/March were the months of my discontent, and basically, I want that last month and a half of my life back. I sold my dream dog because I was a wuss and couldn't hack it, I hated every single waking hour of my stupid job, and then I got Satan's cold that's still with me today. Oh and my house was taken over by ants. And then there was rat poop behind my oven.

Whatev. Life goes on and I still have Creedence Clearwater Revival, so it's coo. Also, our repair man fixed the oven while wearing a bouree, so whatever. Deal with it.

The good news is I start a new job on Mondee. Legal Secretary. Crazy. But who knows if that's really good news or not. I really don't know what to think. Pros=I'm two blocks away from Mitch's work, so we can eat lunch together again. i get to dress up and not work all day in pajamas and feel like a bum. I get to work on the 8th floor of the US Bank building in downtown SLC. Cons=I don't know yet...these are yet to be seen. Or maybe there aren't any cons. All I know is that I'm reaaaaaaaaaaaally nervous about it. It's a pretty ginormous career switch, but I've always wanted to do law, so maybe this is just what I need?

Either way...this is going to be me...helping a big wig attorney with sassy 70s hair.

As excited as I am for the new job, I'm not going to lie....leaving Logan yesterday for the last time was pretty hard. As much as I whined and complained about it, turns out I really love the place. I had a lot of good times there. Like secretly being in love with Mitch, the little indie kid in all my classes that wore Vans like me, from afar.

And then finally getting together with Mitch and letting him finally win the heart of the "engaged girl" that he dug for so long.

And then working with Mitch at the vice president for research office and eating Hazel's bread and Gossners flavored milk every morning in the Hub.

And then there were the glory Bullen days of 2K6 with Emily Hyer. Like the 8 billion times we stayed up until 4 am and then ate breakfast in the junction and fell asleep for the entire day. Or the time when we bought two beta fish and were going to fight them until we got too attached. Or the time our roommate brought home a wounded dove and we couldn't stop laughing at her behind her back...or the time that same roommate just came out in her sports bra every morning.

And most of all, I miss being the night cook at the rest home. holy CRAP that was a good time. I'd sell my soul for a job like that. If only they'd pay me salary like my job now and maybe throw in a high-quality hair net, I'd prolly go back in a heartbeat.

Poop, I miss those days. And I hate that I screwed them up. And I hate that I wasted the last two years of college by being stupid and dating a stupid kid that was bad news. siiiiick.

Well, my point is, if you get nothing out of this post, at least get this...live it uuuuuup. If you're in college and you're reading this, DONT waste your college years like I did. Those are good times.

Graduating SUCKS. It may sound glorious, but all it is is a lot of long 8 hour days with no naps out on the quad or lunches in the hub. It's a lot of bills, budgeting, and only seeing your husband for 2 hours every night. So don't do it. Live it up and stay in school forever. Because, if I could do it all over again, I'd stay in school and travel and stay up late a lot and eat at the Marketplace. And that's all I have to say about that.

So after much sappiness, the only thing left to do in this post is say SUCK IT to technical writing. I may miss Logan, but i will NOT miss technical writing.

And in celebration of my last day of working as a tech writer....and just to cheer myself up, (because let's face it...life sucks right now)...I give you the top 7 things that make me happy.

7.  Be it am or pm, I drink it. Copious amounts of it.

6. Best show on television--hands down.
